Viewfinder Card

Viewfinder card demonstrated by Linda D. at the March Crafternoon.

1. Base card is an A5 sheet of coloured card

2. Score and fold in half to create an A6 Card

3. About 1cm in from side and as far down from top as punch will go punch 1” circle in left hand corner, and with the edge of the same punch take out a finger grip.

4. Out of the cream card use the circle die to cut out a 9cm diameter circle.

5. Use the folded paper circle to locate the centre and pierce a hole.

6. Place the card circle inside the card so that the circle covers the hole and shows in the thumb hole. Pierce through the centre to locate the position on the front of the card.

7. Using the rest of the cream card stamp four flowers of your choice and punch them out. Punch out the 1½” scalloped circle and punch a 1” circle out of the centre of this.

8. Place this 1 ½” frame over the hole in the card front and glue in place.

9. Take the brad and one of the flowers, pierce a hole in the flower and pin the brad through the flower, the card and the circle. Close the brad legs.

10. Using the small flower stamps and a petite pair greeting, decorate the cream circle that shows through the aperture.

11. Stamp a greeting first then turn the circle just enough for the greeting to disappear. Now stamp one of the flowers, turn again till the flower disappears. Continue until greeting reappears.

12. Cover lower section of card with the pattern paper and use a strip of washi tape or ribbon along the top of the paper.

13. Decorate with remaining flowers and some chevrons to your own taste. Put cream insert in to cover mechanism. Use foam pads to attach insert to right hand side so that mechanism has room to move.

You could use a co-ordinating pen to make a stitch mark around the scalloped circle and add gems or glitter glue to the centre of the flowers.

Here is Linda's version.
